Start with the big picture.
Isaiah proclaims the holiness of the LORD, exposes Judah’s rebellion, announces judgment on Jerusalem and the nations, and repeatedly holds out hope through a coming king, the LORD’s servant, restored Zion, and a future new creation. The book moves from warnings in the days of Judah’s kings through historical crisis under Assyria and then into extended promises of comfort, redemption, righteousness, and final glory.
