Start with the big picture.
Jeremiah records a long prophetic ministry during Judah’s final decades before Jerusalem fell to Babylon. Jeremiah warns kings, priests, prophets, and people that covenant rebellion and false confidence in the temple will not prevent judgment. He suffers rejection for that message, yet the book also promises restoration, a righteous Branch, return from captivity, and a new covenant in which God’s law is written in the heart.
