Asa begins with reform: he removes foreign altars and high places, commands Judah to seek the LORD and keep the law, and uses years of quiet to fortify cities. Later Zerah the Ethiopian comes with an enormous army. Asa cries to God, confessing that it is nothing for the LORD to help whether with many or with those who have no power. God gives Judah a decisive victory and abundant spoil.
