What is happening here?
Jehoram, Jehoshaphat’s son, secures the throne by killing all his brothers and other princes. He marries into Ahab’s house and leads Judah into idolatry. Edom and Libnah revolt. A writing from Elijah warns that because Jehoram has murdered better brothers and corrupted Judah, severe judgment is coming. Philistines and Arabians invade, carry away his possessions and family, and he dies after an agonizing bowel disease, unlamented by his people.
