What is happening here?
Uzziah becomes king at sixteen and prospers while he seeks the LORD under the influence of Zechariah, who has understanding in the visions of God. He defeats enemies, strengthens Jerusalem, builds towers, supports agriculture, and organizes a powerful army equipped with ingenious defensive devices. But when he becomes strong, his heart is lifted up. He enters the temple to burn incense, resists the priests who confront him, and is struck with leprosy, living isolated until his death.
