What is happening here?
Moses tells Israel that he is 120 years old and will not cross Jordan; Joshua will lead them. He publicly encourages Joshua, gives the written law to priests and elders, and orders it read before all Israel every seventh year at the feast of Tabernacles. The LORD then warns Moses that Israel will turn to other gods, commissions Joshua, and commands Moses to write a song that will serve as a witness against future rebellion.
