What is happening here?
Exodus 10 records the plagues of locusts and darkness and exposes the continuing pattern of Pharaoh’s bargaining. God says the signs in Egypt are also to be told to Israel’s children and grandchildren so that they may know the LORD. Locusts consume what hail left, and Pharaoh again confesses sin and asks for relief. Afterward he hardens his heart. Then thick darkness covers Egypt for three days while Israel has light in their dwellings. Pharaoh finally offers to let the people go if their flocks remain, but Moses refuses because Israel must take what is needed to serve the LORD. Pharaoh orders Moses away and threatens death if he appears again.
