Exodus 11

Exodus 11 announces the final plague before the Passover instructions. God tells Moses that one more plague will cause Pharaoh not merely to release Israel but to thrust them out. Israel is instructed to ask the Egyptians for silver and gold, and the LORD gives the people favor. Moses then announces that at midnight every firstborn in Egypt will die, from Pharaoh’s household to the lowest servant and even cattle, while not even a dog will move its tongue against Israel. The purpose is a final unmistakable distinction between Egypt and Israel. Pharaoh still will not hear, so the LORD’s wonders will be multiplied.
