What is happening here?
Exodus 27 describes the bronze altar for burnt offerings, the tabernacle courtyard, and the pure olive oil for the lamp. The altar is square with horns, bronze overlay, utensils, grate, rings, and staves for carrying. Linen hangings and pillars define the court, with a specially woven entrance hanging. The chapter closes by commanding Israel to bring pure beaten olive oil so Aaron and his sons can keep the lamp burning from evening to morning before the LORD.
