What is happening here?
Genesis 22 records the testing of Abraham with the command to offer Isaac. Abraham travels to the land of Moriah, prepares the altar, and binds the son through whom God had promised descendants. At the final moment the angel of the LORD stops him, provides a ram caught by its horns, and reaffirms the covenant promises. The chapter closes with the genealogy of Nahor’s family, including Rebekah, preparing for Isaac’s marriage.
