Genesis 4

Genesis 4 follows Adam and Eve outside Eden and shows sin spreading through the family. Cain and Abel bring offerings to the LORD; Cain becomes angry when his offering is not respected, rejects God’s warning, and murders Abel. God judges Cain but also marks him against immediate vengeance. Cain’s descendants develop city life, livestock, music, metalwork, and escalating violence. The chapter closes with Seth’s birth and men beginning to call upon the name of the LORD.
