What is happening here?
Genesis 6 describes a world filled with increasing corruption and violence. The chapter includes the difficult account of the sons of God, daughters of men, giants, and mighty men, then emphasizes that human wickedness is great and the earth is corrupt before God. The LORD determines to judge the world with a flood, but Noah finds grace. God gives Noah detailed instructions for an ark and establishes his covenant purpose to preserve Noah, his family, and representatives of living creatures.
