CHAPTER STUDY WORKSPACE

Judges 21

After nearly destroying Benjamin, Israel grieves that one tribe is about to disappear. An earlier oath prevents the Israelites from giving their daughters as wives to Benjamites, so they attack Jabesh-gilead for not joining the assembly and give surviving virgins to Benjamin. When that is still insufficient, they permit Benjamites to seize women dancing at a feast in Shiloh. The book closes with the refrain: there was no king in Israel; every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
