Leviticus 23 sets out the LORD’s appointed times: the weekly sabbath, Passover and Unleavened Bread, the firstfruits sheaf, the Feast of Weeks, the memorial of blowing of trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles. Each observance has its place in Israel’s worship calendar, combining rest, sacrifice, harvest, remembrance, affliction, rejoicing, and holy convocation.
