What is happening here?
Malachi begins with the LORD’s declaration, “I have loved you,” which Israel questions. The LORD contrasts Jacob and Esau/Edom to demonstrate covenant love, then turns to the priests who despise His name by offering blind, lame, and sick animals. The chapter ends by declaring the greatness of the LORD’s name among the nations and condemning worship that gives Him leftovers.
