Numbers 18

Numbers 18 defines the duties and support of priests and Levites after the priesthood controversies. Aaron and his sons bear responsibility for the sanctuary and priesthood, while Levites assist but may not approach priestly vessels and altar functions. Portions of offerings, firstfruits, firstborn redemption, and tithes support sacred service. Levites themselves give a tithe of the tithe to the priests. Privilege, responsibility, boundaries, and provision are all carefully ordered.
