About This Course

Bible Doctrine IX: Last Things — Christ's Return, Tribulation, Resurrection, Judgment, and Eternity is an advanced Scripture-first study of biblical eschatology. It begins with how to study prophecy, then traces Christ's promised return, tribulation and great tribulation, the man of sin and the beast, the gathering of the saints, the Day of the Lord and divine wrath, bodily resurrection, the believer's accountability and reward, Christ's thousand-year reign, final judgment, and the new heaven and new earth.

Premium-course standard

Seventy-two structured lessons require students to work from an open King James Bible, mark timing words, compare parallel prophecy passages, distinguish explicit statements from inference, complete Doctrine Labs, explain disputed passages in plain language, answer 216 unique lesson Quick Checks, and pass a 110-question final-exam bank with at least 85% on a 80-question attempt.

What you will learn

  • How to study prophecy without surrendering the text to headlines, date-setting, private revelations, charts, or theological systems.
  • Why Christ's return is personal, visible, glorious, and certain.
  • How Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, Daniel, 1–2 Thessalonians, 1 Corinthians 15, and Revelation illuminate one another.
  • Why believers can face tribulation and persecution while still being promised deliverance from God's judicial wrath.
  • How Scripture describes the man of sin, the beast, false prophet, two witnesses, 144,000, mark of the beast, supernatural deception, and persecution of the saints.
  • Why Matthew 24 places the visible coming and gathering of the elect immediately after the tribulation and why 2 Thessalonians 2 gives revealed events before our gathering unto Christ.
  • How the resurrection of the dead in Christ, transformation of living believers, trumpet, and gathering passages fit together.
  • Why the exact day and hour remain unknown while believers are still expected to recognize revealed signs and remain watchful.
  • How the sixth seal, Day of the Lord, trumpets, vials, and explicit wrath language should be distinguished from persecution by the world and the beast.
  • How resurrection, reward, the judgment seat of Christ, and loss of reward differ from justification and eternal security.
  • Why Revelation 20 teaches a real thousand-year reign of Christ, Satan's later release, final rebellion, great white throne judgment, and the second death.
  • How Revelation 21–22 completes the Bible's story with a new heaven, new earth, New Jerusalem, the presence of God, resurrection life, and everlasting service.
  • How to handle disputed passages such as Matthew 24:13, the taken/left statements, “this generation,” and 2 Peter 3 without sacrificing clear gospel doctrine.
  • How prophecy should produce holiness, endurance, gospel witness, faithful church service, and hope rather than fear-driven sensationalism.

TrueWords+ position: Jesus Christ will return personally, visibly, bodily, and gloriously. Believers should expect tribulation in this world and Scripture places the gathering of the saints after the tribulation described by Christ, while distinguishing that tribulation from the outpouring of God's judicial wrath. Matthew 24:29–31, 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18, 1 Corinthians 15:51–54, and 2 Thessalonians 2:1–4 must be compared rather than divided into unrelated saving programs. We reject date-setting and any prophetic system that requires clear passages to be reassigned merely to preserve the system. The Bible presents one gospel and one way of justification for Jew and Gentile in every age: eternal life is received by faith in Jesus Christ, never by works, ethnic identity, endurance, sacraments, or a separate end-times plan. The believer is eternally secure. Christian works will be evaluated for reward and loss, but reward is not eternal life. Revelation 20 teaches Christ's thousand-year reign, followed by Satan's final defeat and the great white throne; Revelation 21–22 reveals the new heaven, new earth, and everlasting life with God. Where prophetic details are genuinely disputed or not explicitly identified by Scripture, students are taught to distinguish text, inference, and uncertainty rather than manufacture certainty.
