WHAT HAPPENED THAT DAY

We had a wonderful day of soul winning on Sunday! We had 11 soul winners out, with 3 people saved during soul winning around Harold Avenue. Later, after the Women’s Ministry meeting at church, Milana preached the Gospel to Christina, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. That brought us to 4 total salvations for the day. Praise God!

I started on the far west and south side of Harold Avenue. At one of the first doors I knocked, I met a very kind man named Darnell, who is originally from Tennessee. He looked like he had just woken up, but he was very friendly and willing to talk.

Darnell listened as I preached the Gospel to him. He received the Gospel fully and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. Afterward, he prayed with me. He also had three dogs at the house that were not originally his. One of his daughters had moved in with him for a while and brought one of the dogs with her, but when she moved back out, the dog stayed with him.

At one point, Regina, who was soul winning with us, decided to bark at the dogs, and naturally, the dogs started barking back at her! Thankfully, I had already finished preaching the Gospel and praying with Darnell by then!

Darnell was such a kind man, and I am hoping that he will come visit us at church one day. Please pray with me for Darnell and that we will have the opportunity to see him again.

We continued down Harold Avenue, where Christal and Regina had already placed invitations on many of the doors. As we worked the neighborhood, it was encouraging to look around and see our other soul winners busy preaching the Gospel and inviting people to church.

I saw Robert and Donnie talking with people on the opposite side of the road. I saw Chris and Parker giving the Gospel to a woman in a wheelchair at her front door. I also saw Chris and Callie talking with people and placing invitations on doors.

Since Harold Avenue eventually came to a dead end, our group turned north onto Wallie Ann Court and then headed right onto Wilart Drive. Along the way, I tried to stop a man riding a bicycle so I could talk with him, but he gave me a mean look and kept riding.

From there, we made our way to McCloskey Avenue and began knocking doors on the north side of the street.

At one house, there were several cars in the driveway, and a young child answered the door. A very nice lady named Necole then came to speak with me. She told me that she was sure she was saved, so I asked her what she was trusting in to get her to Heaven.

Her answer was love and obeying God, particularly keeping His commandments.

That gave me the opportunity to show her from the Bible that salvation is not earned through our obedience or good works, but is received by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. I went through the Gospel with her, and Necole received the truth. She understood that Jesus Christ alone is the Savior and believed on Him for salvation.

All thanks and glory belong to God!

It was encouraging throughout the afternoon to see so many of our people scattered throughout the neighborhood knocking doors, passing out invitations, talking with people, and preaching the Gospel.

We also had a great Sunday at church with many new visitors once again. Between the services, fellowship, ministry work, and soul winning, it was simply a wonderful day serving the Lord.

The weather was beautiful as well. It was around 50 degrees when we first started picking people up for church that morning, and by the time we were out soul winning, the temperature had climbed into the 80s. It was a beautiful, cooler start to the day and a great afternoon to be outside preaching the Gospel.

Eleven soul winners went out. Three people were saved during soul winning around Harold Avenue, and Christina was saved at church after the Women’s Ministry meeting, giving us 4 salvations for the day.

Praise God for an amazing Sunday and another opportunity to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
