Start with the big picture.
Matthew presents Jesus Christ as the promised Son of David, Son of Abraham, King, teacher, miracle-worker, and Son of God whose life fulfills the Scriptures. The Gospel moves from his genealogy and birth through kingdom preaching, mighty works, mounting conflict, parables, instruction to the disciples, the journey to Jerusalem, crucifixion, burial, resurrection, and the commission to teach all nations. Matthew repeatedly shows that Jesus does not merely fit isolated predictions; he brings Israel’s Scriptures, royal hope, covenant history, and kingdom expectation to their appointed fulfillment.
