What you will learn
- Why the Holy Ghost is a Person rather than an impersonal force, and why Scripture presents Him as God.
- How Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one God without collapsing their real personal distinctions.
- How the Spirit works in creation, Old Testament service, inspiration, Christ’s ministry, and Pentecost—including the distinction between salvation-time indwelling, body baptism in 1 Corinthians 12:13, and Acts 1–2 empowerment for witness.
- How conviction, regeneration, faith, indwelling, Spirit baptism, sealing, adoption, and assurance fit together.
- Why salvation is by faith alone and why water baptism, tongues, prayer, or works are not additional saving conditions.
- What it means to be filled with, walk in, be led by, and bear the fruit of the Spirit.
- How the Spirit helps prayer, illumination, holiness, spiritual gifts, church unity, and witness.
- How to interpret tongues, Acts 8, Acts 19, baptism with fire, and blasphemy against the Holy Ghost in context.
- How to test claims of new revelation, impressions, prophecies, and spiritual experiences by the written Word of God.
TrueWords+ position: We affirm the Holy Ghost as a divine Person, personally distinct from the Father and the Son and fully God within the one Godhead. Every believer receives the indwelling Spirit in connection with faith in Christ, is sealed unto the day of redemption, and is called to be filled with and walk in the Spirit. We distinguish salvation-time indwelling and 1 Corinthians 12:13 body baptism from the Acts 1:5–8 baptism with the Holy Ghost for power upon already-saved disciples. The Spirit glorifies Jesus Christ and never contradicts the Scripture He inspired. Salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ, not by tongues, baptism, prayer, works, perseverance, or any other added condition.
