About This Course
Bible Doctrine VI: Man and Sin — Created in God's Image, Fallen in Sin, Accountable Before God is an advanced Scripture-first study of biblical anthropology and hamartiology. It begins with man as God's created image-bearer, follows the historical fall and the Bible's definitions of sin, examines universal sinfulness and human responsibility, traces sin to death and final judgment, and finishes with the sinless Christ as God's sufficient answer.

What you will learn
- What it means to be created by God and made in His image without making man divine.
- Why male and female have equal God-given value while retaining real created distinction.
- How Scripture speaks about body, soul, spirit, conscience, desire, and moral responsibility.
- How Genesis 3 and Romans 5 explain the entrance of sin, death, shame, fear, curse, and broken relationships.
- How Scripture defines sin in the heart, thought, word, deed, and omission.
- How temptation differs from sin and how the flesh, world, and devil apply pressure without removing accountability.
- Why all have sinned, why none can justify himself by personal merit, and how conscience and spiritual death should be understood.
- Why death, hell, the second death, and final judgment are real consequences of sin.
- Why law-keeping, reform, baptism, prayer, church membership, or other works cannot cancel guilt or purchase eternal life.
- Why God is not the author of sin, why Christ's sinlessness and substitution matter, and how the Adam-Christ comparison points to grace.
- How saved people can still sin without losing eternal life, and how fellowship, chastening, fruitfulness, testimony, and reward remain serious.
TrueWords+ position: We affirm man as God's created image-bearer, the historical fall of Adam, universal personal sin, real human accountability, and just divine judgment. We reject both human self-righteousness and deterministic systems that turn biblical descriptions of spiritual death into a denial that sinners can hear and believe the gospel. Salvation is by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ, not by reform, works, baptism, prayer, perseverance, or proving salvation by later works. Christ died for the sins of the whole world; eternal life is received by believing on Him and is eternally secure.
