About This Course

Bible Mastery III: Poetry & Wisdom — Job Through Song of Solomon is a deep, Scripture-first course through Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon. Students learn not only what these books say, but how their literary forms communicate truth: lament, praise, parallelism, wisdom sayings, reflective argument, personification, imagery, and inspired love poetry.

What makes this a Bible Mastery course

Ninety-two substantial lessons require an open King James Bible. Students work through suffering and providence in Job, major kinds of Psalms and their New Testament use, the fear of the LORD and practical skill in Proverbs, life "under the sun" in Ecclesiastes, and covenant love in Song of Solomon. Every lesson requires textual observation, Scripture comparison, careful distinctions, three unique Quick Checks, a Bible Mastery Lab, and a teach-back exercise.

What you will master

  • How to read Hebrew poetry: parallelism, imagery, repetition, contrast, emotional language, and genre.
  • Job’s integrity, Satan’s accusations, the friends’ errors, Job’s laments, the daysman, the living Redeemer, wisdom, Elihu, the LORD’s speeches, Behemoth and Leviathan, repentance, and restoration.
  • Key Psalms of wisdom, lament, worship, confession, kingship, resurrection, suffering, Scripture, wealth, mercy, providence, and praise.
  • How the New Testament interprets major messianic Psalms, including Psalms 2, 16, 22, 69, 110, and 118.
  • Why Acts 2 governs Psalm 16: Christ’s soul was not left in hell and His flesh did not see corruption.
  • How to distinguish a proverb from an unconditional promise and apply wisdom to work, money, debt, speech, anger, correction, friendship, sexual purity, alcohol, justice, and family.
  • Ecclesiastes on vanity, pleasure, time, providence, companionship, worship, money, wisdom’s limits, aging, death, judgment, and the duty of man.
  • Song of Solomon as inspired marital love poetry: affection, restraint, exclusivity, conflict, reconciliation, mutual belonging, maturity, and durable covenant love.
  • How to avoid allegorical speculation while still comparing Scripture with Scripture and recognizing inspired New Testament fulfillment.
  • How to teach the wisdom books with confidence where Scripture is clear and humility where poetic details or identifications remain uncertain.

TrueWords+ position: All Scripture is true and profitable, and poetic form does not weaken inspiration. At the same time, faithful interpretation respects genre. A metaphor is not a secret code; a proverb is not automatically an unconditional promise; a lament can record real anguish without making every anguished sentence a doctrinal conclusion; and a speaker inside Job must be evaluated in light of the narrator and God’s final assessment. Eternal salvation has always been by grace through faith, not by wisdom performance, law-keeping, suffering well, moral reform, or religious works. The course preserves eternal security, distinguishes fellowship and chastening from justification, honors marriage as God’s design for man and woman, and lets explicit New Testament interpretation control messianic connections.
