2 Kings 10 Overview
Jehu challenges the officials caring for Ahab’s seventy sons; they kill the princes and send their heads to Jezreel. Jehu kills remaining members of Ahab’s house and relatives of Ahaziah. He meets Jehonadab son of Rechab and invites him to witness his zeal. In Samaria Jehu pretends he will serve Baal more than Ahab, gathers Baal’s worshipers, ensures no servants of the LORD are present, then destroys the worshipers and temple. Yet he keeps the golden calves at Bethel and Dan. God grants his dynasty four generations, but Syria begins cutting off Israelite territory.
