About This Course
Baptism: The First Step of Obedience is a detailed, Scripture-to-Scripture study for believers who want to understand biblical baptism and follow Jesus Christ openly and confidently.
Salvation is received by faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism follows salvation as a commanded work of obedience. It does not purchase eternal life, complete the gospel, or keep a believer saved. It is a beautiful public act that identifies the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and begins a visible walk of discipleship.
What you will learn
- Why the New Testament consistently places belief before water baptism.
- Why Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to baptize believers.

- How baptism relates to the local church, Christian growth, and a life of discipleship.
- What to do if you were baptized before you were saved or baptized in a way that did not follow the New Testament pattern.

Course goal
The goal is not simply to know facts about baptism. The goal is to understand the Scriptures well enough to obey Christ with conviction. If you have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and have not been biblically baptized, this course is designed to help you take that step.
