Jesus Prays for His Own
Jesus speaks to the Father about his mission, his disciples, and future believers.
Today’s reading: John 17Read the entire chapter in the King James Version.
Before and during your reading
John lets us hear Jesus praying before his arrest. Begin with how Jesus describes eternal life in verse 3 and the work given him to finish. He then prays for the disciples, asking that they be kept and sanctified through the truth. Finally, he prays for those who will believe through their word. Notice which requests concern preservation, which concern holiness and mission, and what Jesus says about unity.
Questions to consider
